I'm driven to try new technologies, but I don't know which ones are right for me and which ones will work with my students or within the limitations of my campus setup (now Blackboard.) What kinds of time, money and support are needed not just for me but for most faculty in my position who are just trying to make some accommodation to today's DL environment?
In a little book by Julie Coates titled, 'Generational Learning Styles,' she says about Gen Yers (teens,& young adults today)
"Use technology. This is a generation that uses technology for everything. A classroom that does not incorporate it will not meet students' needs for variety, stimulation and access to information." (p. 125)

My campus certainly recognizes the need for technology enhancements and like most campuses is working to find the resources to support technology. For those of us at the edge (bleeding edge) of the curve the journey does seem to require more than persistence.
When we get to Tek Fest and the end of the course I wonder what goodies I will feel confident and brave enough to use with my students.
